Pelto M. (1987), studied the mass balence of 60 different glaciers within the Alaska/B.C. area, including Barid Glacier, between the years 1976 - 1984. He determined that during the years 1976-1984 the mass balance of Barid Glacier (in water equivalent units) was -90 mm, but interesting the mass balance for the year 1984 was calculated to be +100 mm. MASS BALANCE OF SOUTH-EAST ALASKA AND NORTH-WEST. (Pelto, M.S., 1987).
